The Guilty Pleasure Band is a six piece music group playing Dance, Pop and Rock hits spanning from the 60's to present day. Our band members are all career musicians with a wealth of professional performance experience, ready to take your events to the next level of good times and entertainment.

LEAD & BACKGROUND VOCALS

Lisa had no thoughts of fronting a band when she moved to SWFL from North Carolina in 2019. She had been the voice for a successful acoustic duo for the previous five years and was hoping to find another guitarist to continue down that same path. After meeting a new guitarist and playing as a duo for almost a year, they had this CRAZY idea to form a band. They soon connected with some incredible artists to form The Guilty Pleasure Band.

Though many changes to the band have taken place since its inception, Guilty Pleasure’s mission has always remained the same… to tell a story, through music, that connects with their audience and draws them in. “When you feel the music, you can’t help but participate, whether it be by singing along or shaking it on the dance floor. Isn’t that what Guilty Pleasure is all about? You just can’t help yourself!”

LEAD & BACKGROUND VOCALS

Kelley has been a performance professional for over four decades. She began her career studying classical Italian opera at the Jordan School of Fine Arts on the Butler University campus before quickly finding her place on the professional performance stage in the early 1980s.

Throughout her career, Kelley has shared the stage with legendary artists including John Mellencamp, Henry Lee Summer, Carl Storie of Roadmaster, REO Speedwagon, and many others. She also worked as a studio vocalist at Indianapolis' renowned Pop Machine Recording Studio, owned by Marc and Eric Klee Johnson, where she contributed vocals to recordings by John Waite, Sindacato, Frank Dean, Chad Harvey, The Late Show, and numerous other artists.

DRUMS & PERCUSSION

Mike started playing drums (kitchen pots and pans!) in the early 70’s late at night watching Don Kirchner’s Rock Concert TV show. He then played with local groups through high school in his Southern Indiana hometown which led to enrolling in music courses at Indiana University.

Family and professional responsibilities kept him in the Louisville, KY area for the next 30 years working but playing at night. He was co-founder of The Chase Band in Louisville which played clubs, proms, corporate events, military officer’s clubs, Kentucky Derby™ events, weddings, etc. for over 15 years. He later joined another Louisville band, Flashpoint that added casino venues, country clubs and promo recording experience.

Now, relocated to SWFL he enjoys touring and playing regional sites using both acoustic and electronic percussion to customize the sound for every festival, venue and tiki hut!

BASS & VOCALS

Gary plays the bass and sings in the band. He has played bass professionally for almost five decades, and his playing style was influenced by many different bassists. Prior to joining the Guilty Pleasure Band, he was the bassist for groups including Hard Times (Louisville, KY), Razz (Akron, OH), and the Plasma Jets (Sheffield, UK). He also played keyboards for groups that include The Waiting (Tom Petty Tribute), and True Blue (Canton, OH). Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, he studied jazz with Jamey Aebersold and earned a music scholarship to Mississippi State University with his abilities on the trumpet. Although he initially intended to pursue a major in music, he instead decided to pursue multiple degrees in Physics and embark on an academic career and became a university professor.

KEYBOARDS & VOCALS

Originally from Kentucky, "Cooley" has been playing professionally for over 50 years. He holds a masters degree from Morehead State University, and he taught music at the high school level for 27 years and at the college level in eastern Kentucky before relocating to southwest Florida. His background includes both sacred and secular music, and he is currently the music director for two local churches.

”I survived being on the road in the 70’s and 80’s. I enjoy and have performed many different genres. My favorite memory is getting Tiny Tim to perform the “tater dig”.
